For Immediate release
Toronto, October 5ᵗʰ 2020. Paul Evanov, President and CEO of Evanov Communications Inc. announced today the appointment of Matthew Wreggitt, “The Hammer,” to the position of Program Director for its Toronto Top 40 flagship station, CIDC FM (Z103.5).
Wreggitt joined the station in its very early days at Hot 103.5 almost 24 years ago as a programming and promotions assistant while still in school. After graduating in broadcasting from Loyalist College, his passion and perseverance soon convinced the Program Director to let him go on-air.
Using the overnight shift to polish his craft, he was able to work his way up to evenings, where his natural affinity with his audience started to become evident. He would go on to eventually host the coveted afternoon drive time slot where he consistently achieves a top 3 rating position to this day.
As a cutting edge Music Director, always with his ear to the ground, Wreggitt was first in North America to play and support Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, and Loud Luxury just to name a few. This caught the attention of the industry internationally, garnering him the International Music Director of the year award from the World Wide Radio Summit.
The format he helped innovate for over a decade will continue to evolve under his leadership. Paul Evanov: “Together with a dedicated programming team, Wreggitt will lead and direct the next chapter of Z103.5. The company was founded and continues to thrive on the strength of our very talented and loyal employees, managers and key personnel; many of whom like Wreggitt joined us decades ago. We are confident that in this new role, he will prove very beneficial to the continued success of the dynamic growth of both the station and the company.”
