Jewel 105

Jewel 105 is the latest addition to the Evanov Jewel family! Recently re-branded from the established ROCK 105.1 format, the new CKHY is ready to serve the baby boomer listener. Although this is new to the Halifax market, the format is a mainstay of the company and is heard in other radio markets from small to major. Halifax is now the 9th market where Evanov airs this format.

The Jewel formula was first introduced in 2002 on CKDX-FM in Toronto. Branded as “Lite favourites”, the primary appeal is for the 45+ demographic, which is the largest sector of the national population. Some of the many familiar artists heard include Elton John, Celine Dion, Chicago, Cher, Bruno Mars, Eagles, Blue Rodeo, Michael Bublé. Some programming blocks such as “The Lounge”, aired in the evening, will be of more specific appeal to those who have been craving the music of artists who set the “Standard”.
